Delegation of the Group of Friendship from the Parliament of Indonesia in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH
The first meeting between parliamentarians of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Indonesia can be regarded as a historical one, because it represents an opening for an even greater co-operation between two friendly countries. This was pointed out, among other things, during a meeting between the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ognjen Tadić, and a delegation of the Group for Parliamentary Co-operation of the Parliament of Indonesia.
The meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on the functioning of the highest legislative bodies in two complex, multiethnic states, and on the importance of parliaments in preserving stability and peace. Both sides have also expressed their wish today to foster good co-operation which is achieved within interparliamentary organisations. Ognjen Tadić emphasised that the two countries can act together in those institutions, in order to reclaim their full importance and role, and he underlined, first of all, the United Nations which can only contribute to the world progress and preserve peace in an atmosphere of complete unity.
Speaker Tadić has used today’s opportunity to offer his congratulations to the guests on the occasion of 17 August which is marked in Indonesia as the Independence Day. (The end)
