Members of the PA BiH Delegation to PA NATO held a meeting with the delegation of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Chairman of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO (PA NATO), Kemal Ademović and the Deputy Chair of the Delegation, Marina Pendeš, held a meeting today in Sarajevo with the delegation of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, led by British parliamentarian Paul Waugh.

Members of the PA BiH Delegation to PSNATO emphasized the importance of the partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Great Britain, as one of the key members of the NATO alliance, and reiterated BiH's commitment to further European and NATO integration. In this regard, they informed high-ranking guests about the past and planned activities of this parliamentary delegation, as well as about the continuous cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo.

They exchanged opinions on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and the entire world, with special emphasis on illegal migration, arms control in the region, Russian aggression against Ukraine and the potential dangers of the presence of malignant influence on BiH and neighbouring countries.

It was jointly assessed that the internal consensus on major political issues between all parties in BiH is key to overcoming challenges and ensuring stability and peace in our country.

British officials emphasized Great Britain's permanent commitment to supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina, preserving its stability and territorial integrity, and emphasized the importance of membership in NATO - the alliance, as, as they said, one of the largest and most important alliances in the world.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to continue cooperation with regular contacts and joint activities, which, as assessed, will contribute to strengthening the ties between the parliaments of the two countries, and improve bilateral relations between BiH and the United Kingdom. (end)
