Members of the Joint Committee on European Integration of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina met with members of the delegation of the European Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark

Members of the Joint Committee on European Integration of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) met today with members of the delegation of the European Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark, headed by the Committee Chairwoman, Brigitte Klintskov Jerkel.
The meeting focused on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the country’s European path, with particular emphasis on the adoption of the Reform Agenda as a prerequisite for the activation of funds from the European Union (EU) Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
Members of the delegation of the European Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament, from the country currently holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU, underlined their strong support for the EU enlargement process and for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European perspective. They highlighted the importance of continuing the reform process, particularly in the areas of combating corruption, strengthening political rights and freedoms, and safeguarding media freedom. In this regard, they stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina should seize the opportunity to activate the Growth Plan during the Danish EU Presidency, noting that it would bring tangible benefits to all citizens of BiH, particularly young people.
In an open exchange, the Deputy Chair of the Joint Committee on European Integration of PA BiH, Miroslav Vujičić, together with Committee members Predrag Kojović, Saša Magazinović, Šefik Džaferović, Ilija Cvitanović and Denijal Tulumović, presented different perspectives on the current political context in the country. They emphasised that there is consensus among all political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the European path, underlining that the EU cannot be complete without the countries of the Western Balkans.
Both sides welcomed the importance of such visits and meetings, aimed at exchanging experiences, strengthening bilateral cooperation and fostering inter-parliamentary dialogue between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Denmark.
