Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PABiH, Dr. Dragan Čović, met with the High Representative of the international community in BiH

Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PABiH, Dr. Dragan Čović, met today with the High Representative of the international community in BiH, Christian Schmidt.

During the meeting, the officials discussed the current political situation in the country, with a particular emphasis on the urgent need for reforms that are crucial for the country's progress on its European path. They also discussed other priority issues, such as the need for amendments to the Election Law of BiH.

The interlocutors agreed that in order to achieve Bosnia and Herzegovina's European perspective, it is essential to ensure functional institutions, promote dialogue, and preserve peace, stability, and territorial integrity of the country. Dr. Čović particularly highlighted the need for changes to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, respecting the constitutional structure of BiH, implementing the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court regarding the legitimate political representation (Case No. U-23/14), and ensuring equality among all three constituent peoples as a foundation for making all political and institutional decisions.
