The Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the third part of the ordinary session of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly

 
From 25 to 29 June in Strasbourg, a delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina composed of Milica Marković, Borjana Krišto, Ismeta Dervoz, Senad Šepić, Mladen Ivanić and Kunoslav Vrdoljak will participate in the third ordinary session of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly.

At the beginning of the ordinary session, the current activities of the Committee and the changes in their membership will be discussed, in addition to the election of the vice-president of the Assembly from the Slovak Republic.

According to the previous announcement, the discussions on the second day will be based on the following topics: “Austerity measures- threats for democracy and social rights”, “The young generation sacrificed: social, economic and political implications of the financial crisis”, “The impact of the economic crisis on local and regional authorities in Europe”, “Multiple discrimination against Muslim women in Europe: for equal opportunities”.

In line with the agenda, the joint discussions for the third day of the session will be held on the following topics: “Democracy at risk: the role of citizens and of the State today”, “The crisis of democracy and the role of the State in today’s Europe”, “The portrayal of migrants and refugees during election campaigns”, “The honouring of obligations and commitments by Montenegro”.

On the other hand, on the fourth day of the session, there will be an exchange of opinion on political transition in Tunisia and the status of Roma migrants in Europe, while on the last day of the session a discussion on the inadmissibility of restrictions on freedom of movement as punishment for political positions and the progress of the Assembly’s monitoring procedure has been planned.

Finally, during the third part of the ordinary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the election of a new Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe is planned, and the election of judges to the European Court of Human Rights from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Poland, the Russian Federation, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
