Members of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the House of Representatives met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina

Members of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) met today with the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Luigi Soreca.
The Chair of the Committee, Branislav Borenović, Deputy Chairs Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević and Predrag Kožul, and Committee members Zlatan Begić, Nermin Mandra, Milorad Kojić, and Jasmin Emrić briefed Ambassador Soreca on the Committee’s competences and activities. They emphasised the Committee’s commitment and proactive role in combating high-level corruption, as well as in strengthening the rule of law, legal certainty, and equality of all citizens before the law—key principles for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progress towards EU membership.
It was highlighted that, during the current mandate, the Committee has held a significant number of sessions and public hearings with representatives of BiH institutions. The Committee’s results are also evident in the drafting of legislative proposals, such as the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Metrology of BiH, which takes into account and follows the best European practices in this field.
The members of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the House of Representatives expressed their commitment to continuing intensive activities and utilising all available parliamentary tools to strengthen preventive measures against corruption, detect cases of high-level corruption, and enhance cooperation with judicial institutions responsible for investigating and prosecuting such cases.
Ambassador Soreca expressed his support for the Committee’s activities, emphasising the importance of strong parliamentary oversight of the executive authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU integration process. (End)
