The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Denis Zvizdić, received the Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina on an inaugural visit

"The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr Denis Zvizdić, received the Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Aiki Toshihiro, on an inaugural visit.

During the meeting, Speaker Zvizdić extended his best wishes to the Ambassador for a successful diplomatic mission and a pleasant stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"For decades, the Embassy of Japan has actively contributed to the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina through numerous diplomatic and economic activities. We are grateful to Japan for its continuous support of our Euro-Atlantic path and for all the initiatives that have assisted in the development of our country. I would also like to thank Japan for its outstanding support in the adoption of the Resolution on the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica in 1995 by the United Nations General Assembly in May last year," stated Speaker of the House of Representatives of PABiH.

The meeting included an exchange of views on the current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the efforts the country is making towards stability and progress.

Speaker Zvizdić also expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for its long-term development assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina through projects implemented with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency. To date, the Government of Japan has donated more than 500 million euros to Bosnia and Herzegovina, funding various projects, including the reconstruction of schools and hospitals across the country.

Furthermore, the Speaker emphasised the potential for additional Japanese investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the opportunity to increase trade exchange through the promotion of products from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
