Members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina met today with a delegation from the Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) of the European Parliament, which is on a multi-day visit to our country.

During the discussions, members of the Joint Collegium emphasized their full commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union and the fulfillment of the remaining conditions for opening negotiations and meeting the tasks outlined in the Growth Plan.

The SEDE delegation expressed their full support and encouragement for this path and called for additional efforts to reactivate the process of meeting the membership conditions in the desired direction.

It was jointly assessed that the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is certainly challenging, but that it is a condition that can be relatively quickly overcome with increased efforts. The members of the SEDE delegation highlighted that they represent friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina who are available for any assistance and support.

Prior to today’s meeting, members of the Joint Committee for Defence and Security of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina had a working lunch with the members of the SEDE, which was also attended by the Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH, Boško Šiljegović. (End)
