Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Denis Zvizdić, received the Ambassadors of the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina in separate meetings

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Denis Zvizdić, received the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, Gabriele Derighetti today, on an inaugural visit and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Roem Kono, on a farewell visit, in separate meetings.

On this occasion, the Speaker expressed his gratitude to the ambassadors for their efforts and the support they have provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also extended his best wishes for their continued success in their diplomatic careers.

Special appreciation was expressed for the ambassadors’ role in the voting process for the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica at the United Nations General Assembly. Their support represents a significant step in the international recognition of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s pursuit of justice and reconciliation.

Speaker Zvizdić thanked the ambassadors for their cooperation so far and expressed his satisfaction with the quality of political relations between the countries, highlighting that there are currently no open issues.

The importance of further strengthening parliamentary cooperation was also emphasised, as it plays a crucial role in fostering relations at all levels.

Speaker Zvizdić highlighted the significant untapped potential for improving bilateral economic cooperation, stressing that the development of economic relations remains a key priority of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s foreign policy. He noted that trade exchange between Bosnia and Herzegovina and these countries is still at a relatively low level, with a low export-to-import coverage ratio, and that there is considerable potential for improving these relations.

At the conclusion of the meetings, Speaker Zvizdić thanked the ambassadors for their steadfast and unwavering support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly concerning the country’s Euro-Atlantic path, and expressed his gratitude for their continued assistance and engagement in this regard. (Statement from the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Denis Zvizdić)
