Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Friendship Group for Central and Eastern Europe met with the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia

Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) Nihad Omerović, along with members of the Friendship Group for Central and Eastern Europe, Nenad Grković and Džemal Smajić, met today with the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan.

Highlighting that the relations between the two countries are friendly and without open issues, the participants expressed their interest in further enhancing cooperation in all segments, particularly in the economic and trade areas. In this regard, the interlocutors agreed that the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the increase in visits and meetings of mixed delegations comprising of entrepreneurs and representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of both countries, could improve the overall relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Armenia, and become a foundation for cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, information was exchanged regarding the current political situations in both countries, regional relations, and geopolitical conditions and their implications for small states, including Bosnia and Herzegovina and Armenia. Special emphasis was placed on relations with neighbouring countries and the need to establish lasting peace and to resolve political and other issues through compromise and constructive dialogue.

The meeting also addressed the possibilities for the exchange of experiences and best practices concerning the process of European Union accession, as well as the importance of mutual support in all international organisations.

The meeting was also attended by the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, based in Prague, Ashot Hovakimian. (end)
