Members of the Delegation of the PA BiH to the IPU met in Geneva with the delegation of the World Trade Organization

"The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) and the Head of the PA BiH Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Dr. Denis Zvizdić, together with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Marinka Čavara and the member of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Ermina Salkičević - Dizdarević spoke today in Geneva with the delegation of the World Trade Organization (WTO), led by Deputy Director General Xiangchen Zhang.

They said that membership in the World Tzrade Organization is one of the primary goals of BiH's foreign policy and that it carries a strong message to investors. They thanked for the help and support in achieving the goals for accession to the WTO and emphasized that BiH is fully committed to the integration of the economy into the international trade system, which is based on the rules and principles on which this organization works. 

WTO Deputy Director Xiangchen Zhang said that the most important thing is the political will of all actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is key to success. He also said that he encourages the relevant actors in BiH to achieve the necessary progress of BiH when it comes to the accession process of BiH to the World Trade Organization. He expressed the hope that this process will end soon, and the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be included in the world trade system.

The members of the BiH delegation and the Deputy Director General of the WTO agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a European perspective and expressed the hope that in the coming year it will join the WTO as a full member.
