Members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the PA BiH met with the delegation of the Parliament of the Federal Province of Lower Austria

Members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) spoke today with the delegation of the Parliament of the Federal Province of Lower Austria, led by the President of the Provincial Parliament, Karl Wilfing.

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Nebojša Radmanović, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Marinko Čavara, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Dr Nikola Špirić, Chair of the Croatian People's Caucus in the House of Peoples Marina Pendeš on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Peoples Dr Dragan Čović, MP Mia Karamehić - Abazović on behalf of the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Dr Denisa Zvizdić and delegate Džemal Smajić, on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples Kemal Ademović, assessed that the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria are extremely good and friendly, and emphasized the high level of cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral level, including substantial inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the PA BiH thanked the guests from Austria for the strong support that the representatives of that friendly country at all levels of government provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of European integration.

They said that, despite internal political challenges, there is a consensus of all political factors in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding membership in the European Union (EU). In this regard, they asked their friends from Austria to continue providing support to BiH in the EU accession process, both politically and expertly.

Members of the delegation of the Parliament of the Federal Province of Lower Austria confirmed their full support for the European integration process of BiH, and emphasized that it is very important for Austria, as a friend of this country, that Bosnia and Herzegovina become a member of the EU.

During the meeting, the improvement of the strategic partnership in the field of economy and foreign trade between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria, cooperation in the security sector, and the continuation of cooperation in the field of education were also discussed. The role of the diaspora was also highlighted, which, as assessed, is integrated into Austrian society and strongly contributes to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
