Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Dr. Denis Zvizdić, received the U.S. Ambassador to BiH in a farewell visit

"Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr. Denis Zvizdić, received the U.S. Ambassador to BiH, Michael Murphy, in a farewell visit and extended his appreciation for the longstanding friendly relations of the United States towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He conveyed his appreciation for the significant role the United States has played in the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s society and the support provided to the country on its path towards NATO and European Union integration.

Dr. Zvizdić extended particular thanks for the assistance during and after the tragic floods and landslides in several municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that the U.S. Embassy has maintained ongoing communication with authorities and agencies of BiH to support efforts in addressing the aftermath of this disaster.

Zvizdić and Murphy also discussed the political situation in BiH, current developments within the state government, the necessity of continuing the Euro-Atlantic path and reforms in this regard, as well as the results of the local elections held yesterday.

“As far as the economic situation in BiH is concerned, we must fulfill the requirements set by the European Commission as soon as possible to activate the Growth Plan,” Zvizdić stated during the meeting. They also discussed the significance of the Southern Interconnection in terms of ensuring secure and stable gas supplies for citizens and the economy, which was assessed to be of great importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Denis Zvizdić, wished Ambassador Murphy success in his future endeavors and expressed hope for the continued successful cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States.
