The Chair of the Delegation of the PABiH to the PAM, Rejhana Dervišević, participated in a roundtable organized by WPL in New York on challenges related to gender equality in healthcare

The Chair of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), Rejhana Dervišević, participated in New York as a representative of PAM at a roundtable organized by Women Political Leaders (WPL) addressing the multiple challenges related to gender equality in healthcare.

During this event, experiences and views were exchanged regarding the collaborative efforts of governments, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector to enhance women's health and provide adequate healthcare that excludes discrimination against women.

It was concluded that collective action must be taken, and lobbying efforts must be made through the involvement of international organizations, government institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations to ensure that every woman and girl has equal access to quality healthcare.

The roundtable emphasized the need to ensure equal access to healthcare for women and girls under both normal and crisis conditions.

Additionally, it was highlighted that gender equality in healthcare is not an abstract concept, but rather a necessity that demands urgent global action.

It was announced that the topic of gender equality concerning access to healthcare will also be discussed at the next WPL meeting, which will be held in December this year in Paris. (End)
