Members of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Marina Pendeš and Rejhana Dervišević, participated in high-level meetings of the Women Political Leaders organization in New York
The Chair of the Caucus of Delegates of the Croatian People in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), Marina Pendeš, and the MP in the House of Representatives and Chair of the PA BiH Delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, Rejhana Dervišević, participated in a series of high-level meetings, which were organized in New York this week by Women political leaders (WPL) during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79).
These meetings brought together women leaders from all over the world with the aim of promoting dialogue, celebrating achievements, and solving the key challenges that women in politics face today.
At the WPL's annual reception under the theme "Pave the Path: Politics in the 21st Century", the participants discussed the importance of equal representation of women in political leadership, and highlighted key achievements in that area. The need for continuous work on creating a political environment that promotes gender equality and enables women to realize their full potential in politics was emphasized.
In addition, Marina Pendeš and Rejhana Dervišević also participated in the session "Protection of female leaders: the fight against violent content generated by artificial intelligence", which was dedicated to the growing problem of violence on the Internet directed at female politicians, especially during election years.
During the event, Pendeš and Dervišević spoke with numerous representatives of political life from around the world, including the president of the WPL Board of Directors Obiageli "Oby" Katryn Ezekwesili and Melanne Verveer from the Georgetown Institute "Women, Peace and Security". (end)
