Members of the PA BiH Delegation to the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Snježana Novaković - Bursać and Ljubica Miljanović participate in the 30th Anniversary General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy

The members of the delegation of Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Interparlaimentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Snježana Novaković – Bursać and Ljubica Miljanović participate in the 30^th Anniversary General Assembly on Orthodoxy, which is being held in Halkidiki, (Republic of Greece).

The main theme being discussed at this jubilee conference of this multilateral parliamentary organization is “30 years of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy: Facing new challenges. Before new perspectives.”

Snježana Novaković – Bursać, on behalf of the PABiH delegation, addressed the conference participants, and in her speech emphasized that parliaments must once again, on behalf of the citizens who elected them, become places where sustainable policies and laws will be passed, and whose main purpose will be protection of values, human dignity, environment, and equalization of access to resources. Novaković - Bursać emphasized that individual freedom and human rights must be protected, but also that solutions must be found to avoid the trap of spreading destructive ideas under the guise of human rights, spreading hate speech and destructive ideas under the slogan of freedom of speech, especially in the virtual world.

The declaration titled "Facing new challenges. Before new perspectives" was adopted at the 30th General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy. It defines the political direction of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, strives to improve institutional functions, and determines the focus of future activities in response to current challenges.

The participants of the 30th Anniversary General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy reflected on the three decades of existence and activities of this multilateral parliamentary organization and discussed the organizational issues of the International Secretariat and the General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy.
