Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH, Dr. Dragan Čović, participated in the conference "Implementation of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina “

"Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), Dr. Dragan Čović, attended the conference "Implementation of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina", which was organized by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Office of the Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) and the Special Representative for the EU, started today in Jahorina.

The conference was opened by the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valerija Galić, and the Head of the EU Delegation and the EU Special Representative, Ambassador Johann Sattler.

The conference began with an introductory presentation by President Galić, on the topic: "The state of unenforced decisions of the Constitutional Court", and through two panels, "Enforcement of decisions of the Constitutional Court from abstract jurisdiction" and "Enforcement of decisions of the Constitutional Court from appellate jurisdiction", an effort was made to reach a solution for challenges of non-execution of decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, as well as raising awareness of the necessity of implementing decisions. The gathered officials emphasized that the execution of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is crucial for strengthening democracy and the rule of law in the country. Also, the conclusion was underlined that the lack of execution of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina can hinder the country's progress on its path towards European integration.

The officials concluded that the execution of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be a priority for all authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The two-day conference hosted, among others, numerous representatives of judicial institutions, as well as representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of BiH and international institutions in BiH."
