Members of the PABiH Delegation to NATO PA participate in the work of the NATO PA Defence and Security Committee
Members of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) Kemal Ademović, Marina Pendeš and Obren Petrović participated today in Luxembourg in the work of the NATO PA Defence and Security Committee, ahead of the plenary debate at the NATO PA 69th Spring session. At the session, the Committee discussed Rick Larsen's special report on the topic: "Ukraine's struggle for freedom and the allied and global response to the Russian war".
In the introductory part, the Defence Minister of Luxembourg presented the activities of the defence structures and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in strengthening defence resources and participation in aid to Ukraine.
During the discussion, the participants called for NATO unity in helping Ukraine, for co-ordinated activity and operational efficiency of NATO. Parliamentarians of NATO countries were assessed to be crucial in making decisions that will strengthen defence capabilities and increase the defence budget of member countries, which would have direct impact on military aid to Ukraine.
NATO countries were again invited to harmonise standards in the military industry and the production of military equipment, and to share responsibility and thus help the Ukrainian people.
In addition to parliamentarians, prominent experts who follow the situation and all aspects of the war in Ukraine participated in the work of the NATO PA Defence and Security Committee.
The Head of the Mission of BiH to NATO, Ambassador Mitar Kujundžić attended the session of the NATO PA Defence and Security Committee in Luxembourg alongside the members of the Delegation of PABiH to NATO PA. (end)
