The European Commission Report on BiH for 2015 was presented to the members of the Collegium of both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, today officially introduced the members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to the key points of the European Commission Report on BiH for 2015.

The officials agreed with the Report with regards to the progess made by BiH after the elections in October last year in meeting the requirements of the path towards the EU.However, they pointed out that in a number of areas the BiH authorities still have much to do. The officials noted that progress along the European path is no longer confined to slogans but is recognised as a common interest that impels concrete actions such as those that have been initiated with the entry into force of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
It was concluded that the Report should be thoroughly studied and analysed, particularly with respect to those points that remain to be implemented. Moreover the stabilization of the political scene should enable more serious steps to be taken along the European path. The first major task, as discussed, is the establishment of a Coordination Mechanism. As for the Reform Agenda, it is now to be converted into a number of operational plans on which we should, despite a series of major unresolved political issues, get to work in the common interestin order to compensate for the time lost.

The officials asserted that the BiH Parliamentary Assembly will make further efforts to maintain a positive working atmosphere and accelerate the reform process. (end)
