Members of the PABiH Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union participated in the IPU Regional Seminar on the Sustainable Development Goals
Chairman of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) to the Interparliamentary Union (IPU), Nenad Lalić, and a member of the Delegation, Predrag Kožul, participated in the IPU Regional Seminar on the Sustainable Development Goals, which finished today in Belgrade.
On the second day of the Regional Seminar, which was attended by parliamentarians from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, participants discussed consequences of climate change, which, as it was said, have seriously affected the rise of poverty, migration, and human health.
Significant inclusion of young people in social and economic processes was also discussed today, which, as said, is one of the prerequisites for efficient implementation of the sustainable development goals.
In the presence of IPU President Gabriela Cuevas Barron and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Maja Gojković, IPU’s, the largest multilateral parliamentary organisation in the world, action plans were presented for this and the next year.
IPU President Gabriel Cuevas Barron in her closing address appealed to parliamentarians from the Western Balkans region to step up the regional co-operation towards the fulfilment of the Millennium Goals, and that, through stronger oversight of governments, parliaments become the drivers of meeting the goals of the sustainable development and reforms that will improve the life of citizens.
