Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH attends the first part of the regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
The Chairman of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Senad Šepić, Deputy Chairman, Borjana Krišto, and members of the Delegation, Mladen Bosić, Milica Marković and Damir Arnaut, will take part in the first part of the regular session of the PACE, which will be held in Strasbourg from 22 to 26 January of this year.
As announced, there will be elections during this PACE session for the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights. For the first time one of the candidates comes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dunja Mijatović, which was proposed by our country. Also, during this PACE session in Strasbourg there will also be discussions regarding the observance of commitments and engagements of BiH as a member state of the Council of Europe.
According to the agenda, the participants of the first part of the regular session of the PACE will discuss the humanitarian consequences of the war in Ukraine, the protection of children affected by armed conflict, and the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages in Europe.
It is announced that discussions will also be held on the judicial immunity of international organizations and the rights of their staff, the European Convention of the Bar Association, and strengthening of international regulations prohibiting trade in products used for torture and the death penalty.
At the five-day session will also include a discussion on the framework for modern sport management and good football management. (End)
