Deputy Chair of BiH Parliamentary Assembly Delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East Europe Cooperation Process Bariša Čolak took part at the meeting of the PASEECP Standing Committee in Ljubljana

Deputy Chair of BiH Parliamentary Assembly Delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East Europe Cooperation Process (PA SEECP) and the Chair of General Committee for Justice, Internal Affairs and Security Cooperation of the PA SEECP Bariša Čolak took part at the meeting of PA SEECP Standing Committee which was held in Ljubljana.

The first meeting within one-year Slovenian Chairmanship of this regional initiative was dedicated to presenting the priorities of the SEECP chairmanship, which will be realized under the motto "South East Europe for the Future". In addition, at the PASEECP Standing Committee meeting, there were also discussions on the future activities of the three general committees of the PASEECP and the prospects for further development of this regional framework of cooperation.

Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and the Chair of the PA SEECP Milan Brglez opened the meeting and pointed out that Slovenia attaches great importance to the PA SEECP, because this regional initiative represents, as it is said, the best platform for addressing great challenges in the South East Europe, many of which are common.

Brglez also said that Slovenian presidency, as priorities, set the enlargement of the European Union, strengthening security, providing greater opportunities for young people and the issue of digitalisation.

Speaker of the Slovenian National Assembly also commented on the perspective of further development of the PA SEECP, pointing out the desire to come up with a common and best solution for budgeting and making decision on the seat of the Secretariat of the PA SEECP.

At the meeting chaired by the Deputy Chair of the Slovenian delegation in the PA SEECP, Branko Zorman, the issues of possible amendments to the Rules of Procedure of this parliamentary organization were discussed with the aim of making decision on the seat and budget of the PA SEECP Secretariat. In this regard, it was agreed that the next meeting of the Standing Committee, scheduled for March next year, will submit proposals for modification of the Rules of Procedure and views of delegations on this issue.

Besides the delegations of Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, PA SEECP Standing Committee meeting in Ljubljana was attended by delegations and parliaments of Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Croatian, Turkey and Macedonia. (End)
