Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples, Safet Softić, spoke with the Deputy Minister of State Administration for Religious Affairs of the People's Republic of China
Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples, Safet Softić, met today with Vice Head of State Administration for Religious Affairs of the People's Republic of China Zhang Yantong.
During the meeting they expressed satisfaction with very good relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and China and the fact that they are constantly developing. However, it has been stated that there is enough space to be used for developing economic relations between two friendly countries as well.
Mr. Yantong informed Deputy Speaker Softić on China's efforts to systematically enable full religious freedom to its citizens, after a time marked by a sort of religious suspension.He added that there are about 100 million believers in China within five major religions, which is inevitably more than in the eighties of the last century when the liberalization of religious rights began.
The fact that Chinese initiative "Belt & Road“, as it was said today, presents not only economic connection, but it also connects people with similar views and affinity; intensive religious communication between different environment can significantly contribute to this huge developing project.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples Safet Softić today said to the high-ranking guest that the key foreign policy priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are EU and NATO membership, however, he added, our country does not want to ignore any friend who is not a part of or does not have aspirations towards membership in these integrations. He expressed his confidence that good relations between the two countries in the forthcoming period will be raised to an even higher level thanks to the efforts made in development of good relations.
