Born on September 16, 1958 in Sanski Most. In 1981 graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka. In 1984 won master’s degree at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade; in 1988 defended doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade (Ph.D. Econ.).
