During the meeting, Dr. Živković and the President of the Hungarian Parliament exchanged views on the continuation of co-operation between the two parliaments within the framework of regional and European projects.
Dr. Živković is participating in the Conference of Parliamentarians of the Danube region, discussing the role of parliaments in the implementation of the EU Strategy for the region.
At the meeting, Dr. Živković addressed the participants of the Conference in a debate on the subject of exchange mechanisms between the Parliaments of the Danube region and their governments, as well as between the parliaments of the region and the European Parliament.
The conference in Budapest gathered together, for the second time, parliamentarians from the Danube region. The continuance of such meetings is planned by EU Strategy for the area, which is a document adopted by the EU in the spring of 2011 and which, as it states, represents a united response to the challenges faced by the more than 100 million inhabitants of the region.
