President of PACE supported the new EU approach to BiH during the meeting with members of the Permanent Delegation of BH PA in PACE
Members of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH PA) of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Milica Marković, Saša Magazinović, Mladen Bosić and Senad Šepić, who participate in the regular Winter session of PACE, met in Strasbourg with PACE President, Anne Brasseur.
During the meeting, they exchanged opinions on the integration of BiH into the European Union (EU), as well as the role of the Council of Europe in the EU enlargement process, in which the rapid integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU was strongly supported by the CoE.
Ms. Brasseur gave support to the new EU approach to BiH, adding that she agreed with the interlocutors that the new approach does not mean neglecting the implementation of judgments of the European Court of Justice in the case of "Sejdić - Finci", but opening multiple parallel processes.
Ms. Brasseur once again emphasized the full commitment of the Council of Europe to cooperate with BiH at all times, and assessed the relationship between the Council of Europe and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a full member, sincere and friendly.
Special attention was paid to the topic of Bosnia and Herzegovina's presidency of the Council of Europe, which will take place from 19th of May 2015, when BiH takes over that duty from Belgium. Regarding this and other topics, the president of the PACE Mrs. Brasseur announced a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina in March this year. (End)
