Members of the Collegium of the House of Peoples talked with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran

-There is a great potential for political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina and if we are to use it we must work on the abolition of visa requirements between the two countries and the establishment of bank relations and payment operations. This would create conditions for communication between business people and the revival of investment process and it would create opportunities for strengthening tourist exchanges, it was said at the meeting between Safet Softić, the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and Ognjen Tadić, the Deputy Speaker, and Morteza Sarmadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran.

The delegation of the House of Peoples is in the official and working visit to Iran, at the invitation of the President of the Iranian Parliament.

- We have an interest and a good will to cooperate and that needs to be turned into concrete actions. Bosnia and Herzegovina today needs investments that will increase the level of employment and keep the young people, who are leaving our country in the search for better life. Of course, any type of action that will help the people who return to their homes, even after 20 years after the war, without having conditions to live normally there, is welcome, said the Speaker Softić during the meeting.

The interlocutors emphasized the need for all influential global and European countries to establish close cooperation in the fight against extremism and terrorism, because this evil, as it was said, outgrew all local boundaries and it represents a worldwide problem now. In this respect, appreciation was shown for all efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this part of the world. (end)
