In her address to the participants, Mrs.Tomić emphasized that BiH has been a full member of Energy Community since 2006. The aim of the Community is energy market development and the integration of Southeast European countries in the internal energy market of the European Union (EU).By the Treaty from 2006,Bosnia and Herzegovina and the countries of the region committed themselves to establish a common market for electricity and natural gas, reminded Mrs. Tomić.  In addition, she said, membership in the Energy Community Treaty provides the opportunity for the development of alternative processes of supplying gas, as well as to improve the condition of the environment with the use of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The Energy Community members from South East Europe, said Ms. Tomić, are committed that the common market should operate in accordance with the standards of the EU market, and as she explained, it should be achieved by gradual harmonization with the Acquis Communautaire. As she pointed out, special attention should be paid on the following areas: electricity, gas, oil, environment, competitiveness of energy resources and their efficiency.

The meeting was organized by the Italian Delegation to the PA CEI and the Veneto Regional Government's Economic Development and Energy Department with participation of PA CEI delegations, Ministers of States for Energy as well as members of other bodies responsible for electricity, oil and gas from the Transadriatic and Transalpine region.
