Delegation of BiH PA participated at OSCE Conference on preventing human trafficking in Berlin

Chairman of the Joint Committee on Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borislav Bojić and his deputy Halid Genjac participated at the two-day conference on the prevention of human trafficking and labor exploitation, which has been organized in Berlin by the Office of the Special Representative of the OSCE and coordinator for combating human trafficking as a part of the German presidency of the OSCE.

Some 150 participants from 30 countries exchanged experiences on methods of combating human trafficking, and adopted conclusions and recommendations that will be a guideline for member states of the OSCE in making preventive measures and legislation in order to prevent human trafficking.

At the same time, the conference participants appealed to the business sector and large companies to cooperate with the authorities and comply with regulation and guidelines that prohibit the labor exploitation.

Apart from parliamentarians from the member states of the OSCE, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations dealing with issues of human trafficking and labor exploitation, as well as representatives from business sector and academia also took part in the work of the conference in Berlin.

Among parliamentarians, Bosnia and Herzegovina at the conference in Berlin was represented by the national coordinator for fight against human trafficking and illegal migration Samir Rizvo and Ombudsman for Human Rights Ljubinko Mitrović. (end)
