Meeting of the Chairperson of the House of Representatives, Šefik Džaferović, with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation

 
Chairperson of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA), Šefik Džaferović, met today with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, Heinrich Maurer.

Džaferović took the opportunity to thank Switzerland for their assistance in the reconstruction of BiH, the development of democracy in our country and especially for this friendly country's quick reaction to last year's floods and natural disasters that damaged BiH and it's people.

Among the list of development projects that friendly Switzerland is proposing, especially recognized are those involving youth employment in BiH and local communities' assistance - Džaferović said today and added that, based on the very good political relations between the two countries, such co-operation will be continued in the future.

Ambassador Maurer was particularly interested in the process of establishing the BiH Government as well as the efforts our country is making on the path to full EU membership and he welcomed the commitment of BiH officials to seize the EU initiative to take a firm step forward. Džaferović expressed confidence that the process of constituting the BiH and FBiH executive authorities will soon be completed and that this act will start a broad reform process that will contribute to the growth of standards for citizens, and to opening economic perspectives and EU accession.
