The Speaker of the House of Peoples, Bariša Čolak, spoke with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in BiH
The Chairperson of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bariša Čolak, met today with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in our country, Edward Ferguson.
Ambassador Ferguson is particularly interested in seeing the future role of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) in the process of making reforms, as part of our country’s path to the European Union.
In the words of Chairperson Čolak, the State Parliament should be one of the most powerful levers in the reform process and should create a legal framework for those major decisions confronting Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). It is, therefore, particularly vital to be in line with European practices and major systemic changes in legislation, in order to contribute fully to the fight against corruption and crime, and to create a normal environment for forthcoming reform processes.
Otherwise, the interlocutors today agreed to the formation of the executive authorities and noted that the time ahead should be used for making a better and more realistic roadmap towards the EU, as a base for reform processes for employment and raising the living standards of BiH citizens. (End)
