Members of the Collegium of both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro

Members of the Collegium of both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, Igor Lukšić, who is on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to both parties, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro have a similar Euro-Atlantic path; the difference being in the approach to achieveing the set objectives. However, the assessment is that in any country of the former Yugoslavia the aims of EU or NATO membership will not be fully achieved unless they do not ensure that their mutual relations and co-operation are at the highest possible level.

It was also emphasized that in the future both friendly countries should do more to increase the mutual trade, seeing that opportunities are not capitalized on to the extent possible. An important prerequisite for an increase in trade is resolving the issue of poor infrastructure, a prpblem which greatly increases the cost of trading and reprents a significant obstacle to better and easier connections between the citizens of the two countries.

During the discussion, members of the leadership of the Parliamentary Houses congratulated Mr. Lukšić on Montenegro receiving the invitation to join NATO. At the same time, Mr. Lukšić expressed his satisfaction with the latest positive report by the EU on the progress that BiH is making and his hope that a credible membership application of BiH for the European Union would soon follow.
