Members of the Collegium of both Houses of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly met with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani

 The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Borjana Krišto, her deputy Šefik Džaferović, as well as the Speaker of the House of Peoples, Ognjen Tadić and his two deputies, Safet Softić and Bariša Čolak met today in Sarajevo with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al -Thani. During the meeting they discussed improving bilateral relations and economic co-operation between the two friendly countries.

At the plenary meeting of the state delegations, which was attended by the members of the BiH Presidency Dr. Dragan Čović, Bakir Izetbegović, Mladen Ivanić, and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdić, discussons were held on opportunities for Qatari investors in the sectors of energy, transport and communication, agriculture and industrial production, and tourism.

Emphasizing the friendly relations between BiH and Qatar, as well the interest of the latter country in investing in the economy of BiH, , Sheikh Al - Thani announced the formation of the Fund of Friendship for BiH from which the State of Qatar will give direct incentives to small and medium enterprises in BiH.

As stated during the the meeting, this Fund will stimulate job creation in the real economy. It was agreed that the State of Qatar will send a delegation to BiH in the next two weeks in order to agree on the details of establishing the Fund.

Officials at the meeting also discussed the creation of a better business environment that would allow easier and faster investments in our country.The establishment of direct flights between Sarajevo and Doha was also announced.

Ministers exchanged their views on current political issues, especially with regard to the progress made by BiH in the process of EU integration. (end)
