Session of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) held in Sarajevo

Under the President of the PACE, Anne Brasseur, a PACE Bureau session was held in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) building. The PACE Bureau represents one of the two main working bodies of this international parliamentary institution, particularly between the PACE’s two official plenary sessions.

The PACE Bureau session was attended by 20 PACE Vice-Presidents, including Mladen Bosić, Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA. In addition to PACE Vice Presidents, the Bureau's session was attended by the Chairs of political groups and ten standing committees of PACE, wherein they considered PACE's summer session agenda, alongside other issues in the fields of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

Tomorrow, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), which succeeded Belgium in taking over the six-month presidency of the Council of Europe, will host a meeting of the PACE Standing Committee, to be attended by the heads of national delegations of Council of Europe member states, alongside Bureau members.

Otherwise, BiH’s presidency of the Council of Europe will last until November this year, by which time it is expected that our country will once again host a session of PACE's Bureau and Standing Committee. (End)
