The 17th inter-parliamentary meeting of the delegations of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) and the European Parliament has concluded



By the adoption of a Joint Statement by the Chairs of both delegations in Strasbourg, the 17th Inter- parliamentary meeting of the delegation of the Joint Commission for European Integration of the BiH PA and the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Kosovo has concluded.

During the meeting, chaired by Nikola Lovrinović, Chair of the Joint Commission for European Integration of the BiH PA and Tonino Picula, President of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with BiH and Kosovo, the formation of the Joint Parliamentary Committee of the BiH PA and the European Parliament, and the obligations arising from the entry into force of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) were discussed.

At the last meeting of this type, the two delegations debated the state of the European integration process and reform in BiH, with special emphasis on the new EU policy approach to our country, as well as other obligations of BiH after the SAA enters into force on 1 June.

During the meeting in Strasbourg, discussions included: public finances and relations with international financial institutions; the energy sector and BiH’s co-operation with neighbouring countries in this branch of the economy; the rule of law; human rights and the functioning of the judicial system; the causes of youth radicalization; and the overall co-operation of Southeast European countries.

In addition to Lovrinović, the BiH PA delegation to Strasbourg consisted of Joint Commission for European Integration members, Aleksandra Pandurević, Zdenka Džambas, Fehim Škaljić and Saša Magazinović. (End)
