Members of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly in the OSCE PA and the Parliamentary Military Commissioner of BiH participate at the OSCE Code of Conduct conference in Berlin



Members of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) Bariša Čolak and Halid Genjac and the Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović will participate in the conference dedicated to the implementation of the OSCE Code of Conduct on Politico - Military Aspects of Security, which will be organized by the OSCE PA and the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF). The Conference will be held on 2 - 3 June 2016 in Berlin.

During the conference, which will be held under the German presidency of the OSCE, discussions will focus on the current and the future role of the Code in the parliamentary control of the armed and security forces. According to the organizers, the aim of the conference is to provide the parliamentarians from the OSCE PA Member States with the opportunity to exchange information and experiences regarding the implementation of the Code in the process of democratic governance in defence and security sectors.

The Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović will address the participants of the conference during the first session (there will be three sessions), and he will speak about the implementation of the OSCE Code through implementation of the Law on Parliamentary Military Commissioner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as about democratic control of the Armed Forces of BiH, which is performed by the Joint Committee on Defence and Security of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Office of the Parliamentary Military Commissioner of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
