Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH congratulated the House of Representatives on activism and enthusiasm
“A spirit of activism and enthusiasm can be felt in the work of the House of Representatives of BiH Parliamentary Assembly and this should definitely be praised” said Ambassador Fletcher Burton, the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, at the meeting held today with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Denis Bećirović.
According to Ambassador Burton, at the introductory visit to the Parliamentary Assembly, “one can also notice a willingness to help in completing the process of government formation at the state level, which is in the interest of all citizens of this country. That way you can more easily respond to the challenges posed by the process of accession in the European Union and NATO.”
The fact is that the work environment for the House of Representatives and the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not very favourable because, as Bećirović said, there is neither a parliamentary majority at the state level nor is the new Council of Ministers formed. However, he said that even in such circumstances there is room for intensive work because more than 90 percent of the problems facing Bosnia and Herzegovina equally affect all its citizens and peoples, and there is no reason why they shouldn’t be resolved.
“At that, we should promote dialogue and popularize such a working model through the educational process and the media, where the OSCE Mission in our country devoted particular attention,” Bećirović said. He also added that he hopes that the good cooperation which the BiH Parliamentary Assembly has with the OSCE Mission in BiH will continue in the future and result in quality projects and capacity building of the highest legislative institution in Bosnia.
