Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Marinko Čavara, participates in the First Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of the Member States of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean in Budva

"The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Marinko Čavara, participated in the First Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of the Member States of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), which was held concurrently with the 20th PAM Plenary Session in Budva, Montenegro.

During his address to the participants, Čavara emphasised the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening democratic institutions, highlighting that parliaments must remain places of dialogue, accountability, and the protection of fundamental values.

He particularly stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a state with a complex constitutional structure, understands the significance of dialogue, compromise, and institutional cooperation for maintaining stability, while also underlining the importance of strengthening international cooperation and mutual trust.

Deputy Speaker Čavara confirmed the commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina to strengthening regional cooperation, good-neighbourly relations, and the European path, while respecting the constitutional order and the legitimate representation of all constituent peoples.

In conclusion, he noted that strong and credible institutions remain the key to peace, security, and development, and that parliamentary diplomacy plays an important role in strengthening stability within the region and beyond.

On the margins of the Summit, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Marinko Čavara, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, with whom he discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations and the improvement of parliamentary cooperation, with both sides expressing a readiness to continue the dialogue and further strengthen mutual relations."
