Dr. Denis Bećirović, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Iran : Bosnia and Herzegovina is a bridge of co-operation between the West and the Islamic world.

''Iran has always supported the independence and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a state of equal peoples and citizens. We are interested in the comprehensive developement of your country towards which the Iranian nation has a great affinity. Iran will continue with its strong economic and political support to Bosnia and Herzegovina,'' said, during a working meeting of a session of the Interparliamentary Union in Bern, between Dr. Denis Bećirević, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Dr. Denis Bećirević, today said that Bosnia and Herzegovina appreciates the help of the people and Government of Iran and expressed a desire to develop links between the legislative and executive authorities of the two countries. ''Bosnia and Herzegovina,'' he said, ''promotes the peaceful solution of all open international issues, and dialogue as a means of communication in the 21st century. Bosnia and Herzegovina represents a bridge between the West and the Islamic world and, because of that, we want to promote tolerance, understanding and co-operation among different countries, peoples, religions and cultures.''
