Deputy Speaker of the PABiH House of Representatives Dr Denis Zvizdić meets with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye in Istanbul

"The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr Denis Zvizdić, met today with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul.

On this occasion, Zvizdić stated that he was deeply shaken by the news of the senseless massacre that occurred at a secondary school in Kahramanmaraş, in which innocent young people and their teachers were killed. "I offer you my most sincere condolences and ask you to convey my sympathies to the families of the victims, and I wish those injured a speedy recovery," said the Deputy Speaker of the PABiH House of Representatives.

During the meeting, the improvement of bilateral relations was discussed, with a particular focus on strengthening economic cooperation, increasing the volume of trade exchange, and the implementation of infrastructure and investment projects of mutual interest. The importance of further developing cooperation in the fields of energy, transport infrastructure, and tourism, as well as enhancing links between the business communities of the two countries, was highlighted.

The interlocutors emphasized the significance of parliamentary cooperation as an important mechanism for strengthening overall relations and for the exchange of legislative experiences.

Zvizdić underlined Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to strengthening overall relations with the Republic of Türkiye and thanked him for the continuous political and economic support that Türkiye provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kurtulmuş confirmed the Republic of Türkiye's readiness to further deepen cooperation, emphasizing that Türkiye will continue to support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the preservation of stability and progress, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina's integration processes.

The interlocutors agreed that there is significant room for improving cooperation in numerous areas and expressed their readiness to continue and implement the agreed activities in the coming period."
