Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) Marinko Čavara, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Kemal Ademović, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Darko Babalj, Chair of the Croatian People's Club in the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Marina Pendeš on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Dr. Dragan Čović, and the Chair of the People and Justice's Club in the House of Representatives, Nihad Omerović on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Dr. Denis Zvizdić had a meeting today with the delegation of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, led by the British parliamentarian Paul Waugh.

Emphasizing that their country strongly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Euro-Atlantic perspective of our country, the members of the British delegation said that the current British Government wants to continue to support the building of peace, security, and economic prosperity in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in all the countries of the Western Balkans. They underlined that Bosnia and Herzegovina and all the countries of the Western Balkans are part of Europe and said that they want to help the progress of all countries in the region, as well as the development of dialogue and democratic institutions.

The members of the Joint Collegium of both houses of the PA BiH thanked their British colleagues for their long-term political and economic support and expressed their belief that there is room to strengthen and improve cooperation on the economic, security, and inter-parliamentary cooperation levels. The possibilities of improving cooperation in the field of defence and security, investments, support for BiH institutions in combating illegal migration, as well as support for the Bosnian diaspora in the United Kingdom were particularly highlighted.

Emphasizing the determination to continue Bosnia and Herzegovina's path towards the European Union, which, as it was said, represents a chance to preserve peace and stability and the economic prosperity of BiH, the members of the Joint Collegium assessed that Great Britain should remain focused on supporting and helping the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a stable and economically strong country, resistant to all political and security threats arising in the current geopolitical situation.
