Marta Kos, Commissioner for EU Enlargement, addressed the MPs and delegates of PA BiH

Marta Kos, Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union (EU), addressed the representatives and delegates of the Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) today, concluding her multi-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. During her address, Commissioner Kos emphasized her strong support for the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina and called on the local authorities to intensify the reform processes in order to hold the first intergovernmental conference on EU accession.

Considering the decision of the European Council from March 2024, which approved the opening of membership negotiations for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Commissioner Kos emphasized that it is now crucial to adopt the Reform Agenda and not miss the unique opportunity provided by the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

In his opening address, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH, Marinko Čavara, pointed out that the visit of EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos is an encouragement for the institutions of BiH on our country's European path, and expressed the hope that the speech of Commissioner Kos in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will produce positive effects and encourage the process of European integration of BiH.

Commissioner Kos' address to MPs and delegates to members of PA BiH was also attended by the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, the head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Luigi Soreca, and the ambassadors of the EU member states in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
