Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) and Deputy Head of the PA BiH Delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA UfM) Rejhana Dervišević is participating in the annual plenary session of the PA UfM, which is held in Malaga under the Spanish presidency.
During the session, MP Dervišević participated in the work of the Committee for Economic and Financial Affairs, Social Affairs and Education of the PA UfM, and on that occasion held a bilateral meeting with the chairman of that Committee and member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Samil Ayrim.
The interlocutors discussed the problem of migration all over the world and the millions of people who are forced to leave their homes for various reasons. MP Dervišević said that appropriate legal regulations on migration policies are necessary for the integration of migrants, not only at the national but also at the local levels, which would promote social inclusion and recognize the importance of quick and successful integration of migrants into society. According to Dervišević, in the modern world, unfortunately, the priority is given to armament, instead of ensuring peace, stability and security.
The Turkish colleague informed Dervišević that Turkey currently has more than four million refugees, and that the country has done a lot when it comes to their care, support and inclusion. (end)
