Chair of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Kemal Ademović, Met with Congressman Mike Turner in Dayton

“The Chair of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA), Kemal Ademović, met with U.S. Congressman Mike Turner on the sidelines of the NATO PA Spring Session held in Dayton.

On this occasion, Chair Ademović thanked Congressman Turner for his twenty-three years of commitment to the NATO PA, as well as for his support and interest in the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During his tenure in NATO PA, where he served as Chair from 2014 to 2016, Mike Turner supported Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Euro-Atlantic path and all initiatives aimed at advancing Bosnia and Herzegovina towards membership in the European Union and NATO, and above all, the building of a democratic society through mutual understanding and dialogue.

He visited Bosnia and Herzegovina several times with a group of U.S. Congressmen, and in 2015 he also visited the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH as Chair of NATO PA.

Congressman Turner was the Mayor of Dayton during the 1995 peace negotiations, opened the NATO PA Spring Session in Dayton, and initiated holding the NATO PA session in Dayton to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Agreement.

Mr Turner once again called on political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to reach solutions through dialogue as soon as possible, which will enable Bosnia and Herzegovina to achieve prosperity and fulfil the strategic commitments that will lead it to the Euro-Atlantic community.” (Statement from the Office of the Speaker of the House of Peoples, Kemal Ademović)
