Report and resolution of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly on the functioning of Democratic Institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina accepted
During today's session of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, a report and a resolution on the functioning of the democratic institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina was accepted with the majority of votes in favour.
The resolution was not affected by the essential changes in regard with the draft resolution. Rather, the changes were made as part of the formation of an ascendancy which was changed in regard to recent events, but primarily due to the agreement between the leaders of the six ruling parties on the formation of ascendancy and the appointment of Mr. Vjekoslav Bevanda for the Chair of Council of Ministers.
The resolution highlights that all the activities in BiH will be closely monitored until 15 March, after which a decision on further action of the Council of Europe will be made, depending on the progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of BIH, Milica Marković, Borjana Krišto and Saša Magazinović held an individual presentation on this agenda item. Aside from them, representatives of all parliamentary groups, as well as representatives of the delegations of the Council of Europe member states participated in the discussion. (end)
