Members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Committee of Foreign Trade Customs, Transport and Communications of the House of People held talks with Members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey
Mirza Kušljugić, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Salko Sokolović, Azra Hadžiahmetović and Zvonko Jurišić met today with the delegation of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey led by the Chairman of the Committee, Volkan Bozkin.
The Delegation from the Republic of Turkey also had a meeting with Members of the Committee of Foreign Trade Customs, Transport and Communications of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the Chairman of the Committee Hasan Bećirović, as well as Staša Košarac, Stjepan Krešić and Nermina Kapetanović.
Mirza Kušljugić, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina recalled that since 2009, there had been no organized meeting between Bosnian and Turkish businessmen, while the Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Trade Customs, Transport and Communications of the House of People of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hasan Bećirović, expressed the hope that soon the administrative barriers that hinder the entry of Turkish investments into Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will be eliminated.
During the two separate meetings, the parties agreed that our two countries have good political relations, but that in terms of economic relations, there is room to improve co-operation. As noted, therefore, the two main institutions in charge of economic co-operation, the Joint Committee of the Economic and Business Co-operation Council of BiH and the Republic of Turkey, should organize a meeting of businessmen from the two countries.
Co-operation with BiH is one of the priorities of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, said its Chairman, Volkan Bozkin.
“We are pleased that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been formed, and our country opens its doors to all who are working to strengthen the sovereignty and integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Bozkin. He also stressed that the ultimate goals are for the annual volume of trade between BiH and the Republic of Turkey to exceed half a billion dollars, and to create mechanisms that will enable us to double the value of investments in BiH, whose current value is 81 million dollars.
