Members of the permanent Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (CoE PA), Milica Marković and Saša Magazinović at the committee meetings of the CoE PA
Members of the permanent Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (CoE PA), Milica Marković and Saša Magazinović will participate in meetings of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, the Committee on Honouring Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe, and the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy from 12-14 March in Paris.
On 12 March, the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights will hold meetings on the following topics: “The Inadmissibility of Restrictions on Freedom of Movement as Punishment for Political Positions,” “The Situation of Displaced Persons and Returnees in the North Caucasus Region,” and “Promoting Alternatives to Imprisonment.” In addition, consideration of the draft fourth additional protocol to the European Convention on Extradition is envisaged, including an exchange of views with the President of the Venice Commission, Mr Gianni Buquicchio, and the President of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), Mr Marin Mrčela.
It was announced that at the session of the Committee on Honouring Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe, the Report on Honouring Obligations and Commitments by Bosnia and Herzegovina will be presented on the second day of the meetings. Also, presentations of reports on this topic by the Russian Federation, Montenegro, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary, Armenia and Azerbaijan are envisaged for the second day of meetings.
The following topics will be presented at the meetings of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy: “Crisis of Democracy and the Role of the State in Today’s Europe,” “The Rise of Populist Movements in Europe and its Dangers for Democracy,” “Violence Against Religious Communities,” “Increasing Drug Traffic from Afghanistan as a Threat to European Security,” “The Situation in Syria” and “The Promotion of Active Citizenship in Europe.” Upon presentation of the aforementioned topics, meetings of the Sub-Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Sub-Committee on the Middle-East and the Sub-Committee on Conflict Prevention through Dialogue and Reconciliation will be held.
