A Member of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Council of Europe, Milica Markovic participated in the activities of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights


Today, Milica Markovic, a member of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, participated in the activities of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, during which the draft report and resolution on the inadmissibility of restrictions on freedom of movement as a punishment for political positions were adopted.

Aside from the confirmation of the composition of all sub-committees of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the PACE, Milica Markovic’s membership to the Sub-Committee on Crime Problems and Fight against Terrorism and Nermina Kapetanović’s membership to the Sub-Committee on Human Rights were also confirmed.

At the meeting, participants discussed the situation of displaced persons and returnees in the North Caucasus region, the promotion of the imprisonment alternatives, as well as the planning of the next plenary session of the Committee in 2012.

Today’s meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights in Paris announced the beginning of three-day meetings of the Committees of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. On 13 March, it is agreed a meeting of the Committee on the Honoring of Obligations and Commitment by Member States of the Council of Europe, while is a meeting of the Committee on Political Affairs is scheduled for the 14th of March.
