The Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 126th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union
Members of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Mato Franjičević, Drago Kalabić and Nermina Ćemalović will participate at the 126th session of this International Association of Parliamentarians on 31 March - 5 April 2012 in Kampala, Uganda.
As announced, the main topic of the First Standing Committee on Peace and International Co-operation (Security) will be discussed, "Promoting and practising good governance as a means of advancing peace and security: Drawing lessons from recent events in the Middle East and North Africa".
The topic of the meeting of the Second Standing Committee on Sustainable Development, Finance and Trade will be, "Redistribution of power, not just wealth: Ownership of the international agendas"; while the topic of the Third Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights will be "Access to health as a basic right: The role of parliaments in addressing key challenges to securing the health of women and children".
During the six-day session round tables will be held, among other things, with discussions on "Tackling malnutrition in young children: The role of parliamentarians", Disaster Risk Reduction - Sustainable Development, Parliamentary Oversight of State Policies of Foreign Aid and related issues, as well as legal reform in the fight against AIDS.
