The Members of the Joint Committee on Human Rights, Rights of Children, Youth, Immigration, Refugees, Asylum and Ethics of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina spoke with the Representatives of the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA)

 
Today, Members of the Joint Committee on Human Rights, Rights of Children, Youth, Immigration, Refugees, Asylum and Ethics of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Halid Genjac and Mladen Ivanković-Lijanović spoke with representatives of the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) David Dolidze and Gerald Dunn about the monitoring of the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings.

During the meeting, guests were interested in the possibility of establishing a state level fund, from which compensation for victims of trafficking in human beings would be paid and research on the level of beggars in Bosnia and Herzegovina would be conducted.

According to Genjca and Ivankovića-Lijanovića, the question of state level fund establishment could be solved by changes to the criminal law of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Research can be conducted through the working bodies of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as through the responsible bodies of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, the collocutors exchanged opinion on the current situation in Action against Trafficking in Human Beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina, laws regulating this field, and questions of gender equality in cases of the violation of this type of human right. They agreed that one of the essential problems is the bad economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it has an influence on the manipulation of people, which results in a negative index in the field of Trafficking in Human Beings.
